The monthly meeting of the Stanton Community Betterment Association was held on Monday, December 5th, 2011, at Susie’s Kitchen. The meeting was called to order by President Katie Hart.
Special Guests: Jerry Kosanovich, new Pastor at the Covenant Church
G Requist: $4,698.13
J Ashley: No report given. (Survey’s due tomorrow at noon)
K Requist: Christmas lights are up, hoping for the snow to hold off. Two new city council members have been elected: Kelvin Wenberg and Ray Guffey.
D Burke and M Anderson: Currently working on what repairs to do on the Burham house this winter (on Elliott Street). They are also working with SWIPCO, and eventually hoping to sell the house of $60,000-$70,000.
E Kutzli: Zeb McFarland has been elected as the new fire chief, along with a few other officer changes. Finishing end of the year business.
Child Resource Center
K Hart: A letter has been sent out to residents in Stanton that is asking for pledges/donations to help maintain the SCRC budget and to help raise money for the storm shelter. Katie will also be resigning as Director and hoping to have a new Director hired by February 1st.
D. Rossander: Santa is coming to town on December 17th!!

H Clark: Currently full. Working on repairing a collapsed wall. Will also be constructing a new shower on-site.
J Kosanovich: There will be a community Children’s Program on December 14th at 7:00 pm. Christmas service will be Christmas morning at 7:00 am.
E Kutzli: There will be an open house at the Parsonage on Dec. 11th from 3:00 pm-? Recently confirmed five kids, a wedding on the 17th. December 18th will be Sunday School Program at 9:00 am followed by the Christmas Cantata at 10:30 am. Christmas Eve service will be on the 24th at 9:30 pm, no Christmas morning services. Chuck Eklof will be retiring with the food pantry at the end of the month.
Tabor Lutheran Church
K Hart: Sunday School Program on the 11th at 5:00 pm. Christmas Eve service at 6:30 pm on the 24th, no Christmas morning services.

Montgomery County Memorial Hospital
A Pohren: Finishing up renovations in X-Ray and the will be done with renovations! Just need to look over the punchlist after this 3 ½ year project. Will mostly likely hold an open house in January.
M Kennon: No report given.

M Anderson: The wellness center downtown is being used frequently. Possible walking program starting back up for the winter. About $700,000 short of goal to start construction on the building, still working on Capital Campaign.
Other announcements: FMTC and Great Western will host their holiday open houses on December 6th from 9-11:30.

Santa Lucia Update
Voting will take place at the Senior Center this Saturday. Agreed should hold annual phone book drawings and lighting contests.
