Stanton native Jenna Ramsey has been named Stanton’s Community Development Director.
Ramsey is a Stanton graduate with a degree from Iowa State University. She lived in North Carolina for 5 years before moving back to her hometown of Stanton. Her most recent position was Marketing Specialist at Montgomery County Memorial Hospital.
The Community Development Director position is a public/private partnership between the City of Stanton and Farmers Mutual Telephone Company. A 5-member city-appointed advisory council will work with Ramsey.
“I’m excited to be able to lead and contribute to the ongoing, forward-thinking planning and development efforts in our community,” said Ramsey. “We have many great projects and improvements underway, and more on the horizon that we can be proud of.”
Some of the duties for this part-time position include: planning and organizing the implementation of Creative Placemaking projects, administering community development activities, and coordinating the implementation of public facility improvements, public services and other related programs. Some other activities include working with the Montgomery County Development Corporation Director, interact with community organizations, businesses, and citizens and implement a marketing campaign.
